EU to keep sanctions against Russia year after Crimea’s accession

ôëàã ÅÑBRUSSELS, Mar 16 (PRIME) -- The E.U. will maintain sanctions imposed on Russia after the accession of Crimea and urges U.N. countries to consider similar measures against Moscow because of its actions on the peninsula, the European Commission said in a statement Monday on the one-year anniversary of the accession.

The E.U. prolonged the action of Russians black list until September 15 last week. The next summit of E.U. countries, where economic sanctions’ prolongation will be considered, was slated for Thursday–Friday.
